This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Oversee the architecture, design, and development of enterprise applications utilizing Python 3.x
• Create, develop, and sustain solutions employing FastAPI, Django, Flask, or comparable frameworks
• Construct and integrate secure REST APIs, middleware, and microservices architectures
• Spearhead the modernization of legacy applications into scalable, cloud-ready platforms
• Set development standards, conduct code evaluations, and mentor engineering team members
• Work alongside project managers, product owners, and stakeholders to outline technical roadmaps
• Engage in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and demonstrations
• Assist in developing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and implementing DevSecOps best practices
• Ensure that solutions comply with federal cybersecurity, compliance, and accessibility standards
• Diagnose complex production issues and lead efforts to optimize performance
• Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams regarding deployments and release management
• Produce technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and implementation strategies
• A bachelor's degree in computer sciences, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory
• Over seven (7+) years of professional software development experience, ideally within a federal work environment
• Extensive hands-on experience with Python 3.x in enterprise settings
• Demonstrated experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django
• Background in designing and developing REST APIs and middleware integrations
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices
• Experience leading development teams or acting in a senior technical lead capacity
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
• Must possess and be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
• Full-time remote position based in the Washington, DC area
• Occasional travel for client meetings, planning sessions, or program events as required
• Standard business hours with flexibility based on project needs
