Senior Python Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Moldova.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance strategies for obtaining research data from scientific laboratory instruments.

• Design and implement custom file parsers to manage various instrument output formats—including .xlsx, .pdf, .txt, .raw, .fid, and numerous proprietary vendor binaries.

• Create and execute robust data models alongside scalable data pipelines, thorough unit and integration tests, and modular utility libraries.

• Conduct comparative analyses of datasets produced by similar instruments or workflows to develop shared, extensible components for data models.

• Generate visualizations, reports, and interactive dashboards utilizing platforms such as Streamlit, Tableau, Jupyter Notebook, and others.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in developing solutions as a Data Engineer or in related fields.

• More than 3 years of experience in Python and SQL with a strong emphasis on data.

• Familiarity with data visualization and dashboarding tools such as Streamlit, Tableau, and Jupyter Notebook is advantageous.

• Strong communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the confidence to oversee project delivery.

• Ability to swiftly comprehend a highly technical product and communicate effectively with product management and engineering teams.

• A genuine passion for data challenges and utilizing AI and LLM to generate innovative solutions.

• A degree in biology, chemistry, or related fields OR more than 3 years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry in scientific data engineering, data modeling, or data analytics.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices in cloud environments.

• Some experience with React.
