Senior Python Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Czechia.

📋 Description

• Formulate and enhance strategies for acquiring research data from scientific laboratory equipment.

• Design and implement custom file parsers to accommodate various instrument output formats—including .xlsx, .pdf, .txt, .raw, .fid, and numerous proprietary vendor binaries.

• Construct and deploy robust data models, along with scalable data pipelines, comprehensive unit and integration tests, and modular utility libraries.

• Conduct comparative analysis of datasets produced by similar instruments or workflows to create shared, extensible data model components.

• Develop visualizations, reports, and interactive dashboards utilizing platforms such as Streamlit, Tableau, Jupyter Notebook, among others.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building solutions as a Data Engineer or in related fields.

• At least 3 years of experience working with Python and SQL focused on data.

• Familiarity with data visualization and dashboarding tools such as Streamlit, Tableau, and Jupyter Notebook is advantageous.

• Strong communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to take charge of project delivery.

• Ability to quickly grasp a highly technical product and communicate effectively with product management and engineering teams.

• Preferred: A strong interest in data challenges and employing AI and LLM to generate innovative ideas.

• A degree in biology, chemistry, or related fields OR more than 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry focusing on scientific data engineering, data modeling, or data analytics.

• Experience with DevOps practices in cloud environments is beneficial.

• Some experience with React is a plus.
