Senior Python Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Lead the Development of High-Priority Architecture: Design and scale robust backend Python applications that are central to our mission-critical SaaS ecosystem.

• Tackle Real-World Scale Challenges: Enhance application performance and resolve intricate technical bottlenecks unique to a high-volume platform with an extensive feature set.

• Improve the Codebase: Carry out thorough code reviews, advocate for automated testing, and methodically refactor legacy Python/Django systems to ensure top-notch quality.

• Progress Modern API Infrastructure: Create clean, scalable API interfaces that facilitate seamless third-party integrations and support our Vue.js frontend.

• Collaborate and Mentor: Work closely with cross-functional teams on systemic design, mentor junior developers, and foster a team culture centered on continuous learning.

• Ensure Security and Documentation: Apply industry-standard security measures, uphold compliance, and document architectural processes to enable rapid team iteration.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in the Python programming language, including its libraries and frameworks, particularly Django.

• Experience in developing and maintaining SaaS applications, with the capability to design scalable and reliable software solutions.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with Product Management teams.

• Experience with Docker and the containerization of services.

• Knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile.

• Proficient in working with both relational and NoSQL databases.

• Experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.

• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and code quality assurance practices.

• Ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

• Strong problem-solving skills for addressing technical issues.

• Passion for staying informed about emerging technologies and industry trends.

• Full proficiency in both German and English.
