Senior Python Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and implementation of backend services and APIs utilizing Python and the Pyramid framework on AWS.

• Design and manage PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and performance enhancements for clinical-grade data.

• Develop and sustain AWS infrastructure, including Kubernetes (EKS), Lambda, API Gateway, and cloud-to-cloud integration methodologies.

• Establish backend coding standards, API design methodologies, security best practices, and testing strategies.

• Mentor and support backend engineers, promoting engineering excellence throughout the team.

• Participate in agile software development practices such as stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and estimation.

• Proactively drive project completion within the defined architecture, showcasing independence from concept to deployment.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of backend engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or tech lead capacity.

• Expertise in the following areas:

• *Designing and implementing scalable backend services and APIs using Python*

• *Architecting PostgreSQL databases with a strong emphasis on schema design, query optimization, and data integrity*

• *Leveraging AWS services: Kubernetes (EKS), Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3, IAM, and cloud-to-cloud integrations*

• *Mentoring engineers, performing code reviews, and upholding engineering standards across the team*

• *Delivering production systems with exceptional reliability, observability, and security*.

• Profound understanding of SOLID principles, OOP, and clean architecture patterns.

• Knowledge of OWASP security practices.

• Proficiency in English.
