This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Act as a strategic advisor to senior executives—especially the President and CEO—by distilling various environmental insights into clear briefings and summaries.
• Enhance senior leadership’s enterprise risk management initiatives by examining how NRMP and associated topics are portrayed or discussed externally, along with potential reputational advantages or risks they may present.
• Propose and create proactive communication strategies and plans, messaging techniques, or engagement opportunities based on observed trends in media coverage, policy discussions, and stakeholder sentiments.
• Assist in the formulation of response strategies to both favorable and unfavorable media coverage, including the amplification of positive coverage and thoughtful handling of criticism or misrepresentation.
• Track media (both print and online), trade publications, policy sources, and social media platforms for references to NRMP, the Match, and related topics to pinpoint trends, emerging issues, and high-profile narratives.
• Evaluate tone, sentiment, and reach concerning NRMP; compile periodic summaries or alerts for senior leadership and suggest areas for broader engagement as needed.
• Identify pertinent threads/themes and facilitate online discussions and responses to social media comments, stakeholder inquiries, etc., ensuring accuracy, conciseness, and reinforcement of NRMP’s brand identity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of experience in communications or marketing.
• Extensive experience in media monitoring and engagement, as well as media intelligence platforms; strong preference for expertise with the Cision One platform.
• Familiarity with a content management system; WordPress experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with design software; proficiency in Canva.
• Knowledgeable in social media technology and corporate social media tools such as Hootsuite.
• A proactive, purpose-driven approach to work with the ability to act swiftly.
• Exceptional time management skills and ability to meet deadlines while under pressure.
• Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; capable of interpreting data for a non-research audience.
• Ability to build relationships that foster collaboration across the organization.
• Capacity to work independently and manage projects and priorities proactively.
• Good judgment and decision-making capabilities.
