This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of protective relays, DFRs, RTUs, PLC systems, and telecom equipment.
• Conduct advanced testing on transmission systems, buses, transformers, and generation assets.
• Configure and commission sophisticated relay systems.
• Manage SCADA/RTU integration and upgrades.
• Analyze and validate protection schemes and their settings.
• Lead field teams while mentoring junior and intermediate personnel.
• Interact directly with clients, providing them with technical support.
• Resolve complex issues and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure precise reporting and comprehensive project documentation.
• Promote a strong culture of safety.
• 7–15 years of progressive experience in the field of protection and controls.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Registration or eligibility for registration with ASTTBC or EGBC.
• Preferred NETA Certification (Level I–IV).
• Extensive experience with SEL relay families.
• Familiarity with GE relays is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of RTU and communication systems (GE, SEL, Novatech, etc.).
• Demonstrated leadership and client-facing experience.
• Strong technical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and a willingness to travel.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
