Senior Program Manager – Clinical Innovation

Posted 6 days ago

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the complete program design and operational strategy for the implementation of new care models, overseeing everything from discovery and design to pilot, launch, and post-launch management. These initiatives encompass new client partnerships, new program types (e.g., hypertension), and modifications of existing care frameworks.

• Create operationally effective care models for new clients by gaining insights into their member populations, current care infrastructure, and strategic goals. Convert this understanding into scalable workflow designs, care team structures, member engagement tactics, and success metrics.

• Oversee real-time operational implementation: foresee potential bottlenecks, identify issues as they arise during the pilot and launch phases, and drive solutions. This role demands hands-on problem-solving rather than distant oversight.

• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with clinical operations, implementation, product, technology, finance, and senior leadership to ensure alignment on implementation strategies, address trade-offs, and maintain momentum on initiatives.

• Act as a primary internal liaison for strategic client partners, including health systems, integrated delivery networks, and Medicare Advantage plans, throughout the implementation and steady-state operations. Establish trusted relationships with client stakeholders, communicate progress and performance clearly, and address issues proactively before they escalate.

• Develop and sustain operational frameworks, playbooks, and enablement resources that translate care model design into practical applications for care teams, including routing logic, member prioritization, escalation processes, and cross-functional handoffs.

• In collaboration with senior leadership, define success metrics for each implementation (e.g., clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, member satisfaction, financial performance) and establish measurement systems to monitor progress and accountability.

• Manage upward and laterally: maintain regular communication with senior leadership regarding progress, risks, and strategic trade-offs. Clearly escalate issues and collaborate with peer leaders to address cross-functional challenges.

• For key client relationships, continue overseeing operational strategy and performance management in the steady state, serving as the internal strategic operator for the partnership.

• Contribute to the overall care model roadmap and product strategy by synthesizing insights from implementations, clinical learnings, and client feedback into opportunities for enhancement and scaling.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience in healthcare, with a minimum of 4 years in clinical operations, care delivery, or a closely related operational role.

• 2–3 years of experience in a strategic operations, clinical innovation, or internal consulting capacity, where you have been responsible for designing and executing new programs or processes across various functions.

• Proven experience working directly with clinical teams, physicians, and other clinical leaders to design and implement operational or care model changes.

• Hands-on experience executing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives in a dynamic environment. You are comfortable with uncertainty, can define your own scope, and drive projects forward without needing everything clearly outlined from the start.

• Strong analytical skills and structured problem-solving approach. You can conduct initial data analysis to identify problems, formulate hypotheses, and assess solutions.

• Familiarity with healthcare terminology and clinical concepts. You are a quick learner who can engage with subject matter experts in new clinical areas and ask insightful questions.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You can create precise operational specifications and implementation plans, distill complex projects into executive-ready summaries, and provide clear guidance for care teams.

• Ability to navigate matrix dynamics and manage relationships both upward and across. You are comfortable with ambiguity regarding decision-making authority and can foster alignment without formal power.

• Experience in a startup environment or possess a startup mindset—you have worked in a fast-paced, resourceful setting where you adapted quickly to shifting priorities.

• Proficient in Google Suite applications.

• Willingness to travel occasionally for client on-site engagements and implementation support.

• This is a remote position based in the U.S. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or assume sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
