Senior Program and Policy Consultant – Medicaid

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Utilize your skills in Medicaid programs and policy, along with your drive, initiative, and problem-solving capabilities to assist Medicaid agencies in enhancing the health and lives of individuals.

• Support a current client in the execution of waivers for children facing serious emotional disorders as well as intellectual and developmental disabilities.

• Lead or assist in client initiatives where you will apply your subject matter expertise and project management skills.

• Create client deliverables including program and policy recommendations, amendments for 1915c waivers, complex analyses, ongoing status updates, data and technical strategy plans, and presentations.

• Foster relationships with project team members, including client contacts, stakeholders, federal partners, and vendor representatives.

• Report on project and delivery status to clients, team members, and other stakeholders.

• Craft your own career development plan and guide BerryDunn team members through collaborative practice, knowledge sharing, and joint project deliverables.

• Engage in marketing and business development efforts, such as composing blog posts, attending conferences, evaluating Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and contributing to go/no-go decision processes.


⛳️ Requirements

• 5 years of relevant professional experience in state or federal government, healthcare, and/or consulting.

• At least 3 years of experience working directly with, or consulting for, a State Medicaid agency.

• Familiarity with Medicaid program and policy, including areas such as developing and/or implementing Medicaid programs and enhancements, interpreting and analyzing federal laws and regulations, documenting compliance recommendations, researching and creating State Plan Amendments (SPAs) and 1915c waivers, and developing health and human services programs with a focus on home and community-based services (HCBS) for children, youth, and families.

• Experience in analyzing quality measures and implementing performance changes.

• Skills in stakeholder engagement, research, and meeting facilitation.

• Proven ability to solve problems and use critical thinking skills to adapt to changing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to build relationships.

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
