Senior Product Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.

📋 Description

• You are responsible for a specific platform domain.

• You establish the standards and tools necessary for success.

• You make key technical decisions and are accountable for both adoption and results.

• Work collaboratively with engineers in product squads to co-create solutions.

• Hold one-on-one meetings with the engineers you mentor, as well as with Principals who provide mentorship to you.

• Participate in design reviews for your domain and as part of the wider team.

• Writing is crucial—this includes design documentation, ADRs, and lessons learned from incidents.

• Safeguard time for focused, deep work and minimize unnecessary meetings.

• Engage in meaningful collaboration with team members and promote the concept of strategic laziness.

• You possess a strong comfort level in the demanding field of application engineering.

• You have extensive knowledge of C# and the .NET framework.

• You likely have enough familiarity with Python and TypeScript to be effective.

• Your judgement, taste, vision, and contextual understanding are critical for this position.

• You can assess AI-generated content and distinguish between high-quality and merely plausible work.

• You understand the practical implications of "platform as product."

• You take ownership of outcomes and have the agency to drive results.
