• Oversee the delivery process for the Billing and Data teams by managing team backlogs, facilitating Agile ceremonies, and ensuring that tasks are well-defined, prioritized, and prepared for engineering implementation.
• Create comprehensive feature epics and user stories with clear acceptance criteria that provide engineering teams with the necessary clarity to execute without confusion.
• Organize and conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure that releases fulfill functional requirements, quality benchmarks, and platform integrity expectations — including the creation and execution of SQL queries directly in BigQuery to verify data precision and pipeline integrity.
• Manage release planning, draft detailed release notes, and oversee internal communication regarding rollouts for both platforms.
• Collaborate with fellow Product Owners to handle cross-team dependencies and sequencing for shared projects.
• Work alongside Product Managers to gain a thorough understanding of product strategy and vision, ensuring that tactical execution remains aligned with business objectives and stakeholder priorities.
• Collaborate with Engineering Managers to align on resource availability and integrate technical guidance into backlog management, sequencing, and delivery decisions.
• Partner with the Program Manager to facilitate cross-functional coordination, guaranteeing that key features are delivered with appropriate stakeholder alignment and organizational visibility.
• Define and validate Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) that progressively deliver value while aligning with NMI's strategic objectives.
• Provide product training and support for customer-facing teams, support staff, and other internal stakeholders.
• Maintain transparency by communicating upcoming tasks, progress, and timelines to stakeholders and executives.
• Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of NMI's five billing platforms: their architectures, business rules, interdependencies, and the ways they serve different merchant and partner segments.
• Act as the main contact for billing-related feature inquiries among engineering, finance, and operations stakeholders.
• Collaborate with finance and cross-functional teams to ensure billing operations are compliant, auditable, and accurately integrated across essential systems (e.g., payment processors, CRMs, ERP systems).
• Convert complex billing requirements from cross-functional stakeholders into clearly defined, actionable user stories.
• Identify and highlight platform-level risks, technical debt, and opportunities for consolidation in collaboration with engineering leadership.
• Develop and sustain comprehensive knowledge of the Data team's ingestion pipelines, transformation layers, and data artifact delivery on GCP and BigQuery.
• Serve as the primary contact for inquiries related to the data platform, pipeline scope, and data artifact requirements across analytics and reporting stakeholders.
• Create and execute SQL queries against BigQuery as a fundamental aspect of UAT — validating pipeline outputs, confirming transformation accuracy, and ensuring data meets acceptance criteria prior to live releases.
• Collaborate with data engineering to define and prioritize data models, views, and dashboards that fulfill stakeholder reporting requirements.
• Advocate for data governance, lineage, and best practices regarding scalability, usability, and privacy-compliant data management.
• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Technical Product Manager.
• Proven capability to become the primary subject matter expert for the products and features you oversee — including technical depth, not just business context.
• Solid understanding of cloud-based data platforms, pipelines, and tools (BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, etc.).
• Ability to write and execute SQL queries against BigQuery as part of UAT validation — ensuring pipeline outputs, transformation logic, and data accuracy meet acceptance criteria.
• Proficient in Agile development frameworks and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Figma).
• Experience in conducting and managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to guarantee product quality and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience coordinating software release cycles, QA processes, and documentation.
• Enthusiasm for understanding end users and translating insights into practical product enhancements.
• Experience with financial systems, billing platforms, or accounting modules in a SaaS or fintech setting (Nice to Have).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform preferred) (Nice to Have).
• Experience in data governance or privacy-compliant data handling (GDPR, CCPA) (Nice to Have).
• Technical background (CS degree or equivalent experience) is a plus (Nice to Have).
• Competitive salary + bonus.
