• Comprehend customer needs and collaborate with development teams to decompose them into deliverable increments (epics, user stories, acceptance criteria).
• Draft requirements and tickets for new development projects, articulate priorities, and clarify trade-offs.
• Create lightweight prototypes/mockups (often utilizing AI) to clarify workflows, mitigate scope risks, and expedite alignment.
• Collaborate with UI/UX design to guarantee an intuitive, user-focused product experience.
• Maintain a sprint-ready backlog and lead refinement efforts to stay ahead by 1-2 sprints.
• Oversee delivery execution for product initiatives, ensuring successful fulfillment of customer commitments, milestones, and alignment with company strategy and market demands.
• Work alongside sales, marketing, and customers to grasp product needs.
• Conduct market research to understand the competitive landscape.
• Define and monitor key product metrics (usage, adoption, performance) to inform decision-making.
• Prioritize product features based on established and business-relevant metrics.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (or equivalent technical experience).
• Over 6 years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager focusing on B2B SaaS products.
• Exceptional ability to communicate requirements clearly and collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
• Proven capability to quickly adapt in unfamiliar domains and become an effective product owner.
• History of successfully launching products to the market.
• Solid grasp of Agile methodologies and practices.
• Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently and within a team; adept at navigating complex systems and taking ownership of diverse responsibilities.
• Proficient with modern tools: using AI to enhance requirements, prototype ideas, and examine edge cases.
• Familiarity with electrical engineering concepts and terminology, especially regarding power generation or energy systems (preferred).
• Experience in regulated sectors (e.g., utilities, infrastructure, asset management) where edge cases are significant (preferred).
• Background in software development (through professional or personal projects) (preferred).
• Experience in managing big data or analytics platforms (preferred).
• Understanding of cloud platforms and contemporary data architectures (preferred).
• Experience in designing and delivering AI-first or data-driven features (preferred).
• Fully remote work with office locations in Calgary and Toronto.
