Senior Product Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and prioritize the product roadmap for embedded databases, query, data synchronization, and networking, determining which challenges to address and their significance to customers.

• Collaborate closely with engineering on API design, developer experience, and technical scenarios, contributing throughout the entire delivery lifecycle rather than just at the beginning or end.

• Balance trade-offs between performance, reliability, footprint, and developer ergonomics, working alongside engineering to assess implementation strategies.

• Engage thoroughly with customers and their developers to understand how they utilize Ditto, identify friction points in the SDK, and convert that feedback into actionable product requirements.

• Coordinate with other Product Managers and Engineering Managers to ensure SDK features are aligned with the overarching platform direction.

• Convert complex requirements into detailed technical specifications that guide engineering efforts.

• Advocate for the SDK both internally and externally through documentation, demonstrations, sample applications, and technical content that showcases its capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.

• A minimum of 5 years of Product Management experience with technical, developer-facing products.

• Proven experience across embedded or distributed databases, query engines, data synchronization, or networking and transport.

• Technical proficiency to collaborate effectively with engineers on API design, architectural discussions, and trade-off evaluations.

• Strong analytical abilities for assessing trade-offs among various technical strategies and their business consequences.

• A customer-centric approach with experience in translating technical customer needs into clear product priorities.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with engineering, sales, and customer success teams, as well as for presenting to both technical and business stakeholders.

• Openness to travel quarterly for company meetups and customer interactions.
