• Define and lead the product strategy for connected pricing and promotion optimization, in alignment with DemandTec's AI-first transformation and the key commercial outcomes that matter most to our customers.
• Create pricing and promotional workflows that are agentic — featuring autonomous pricing agents, real-time promotional scenario modeling, and AI-assisted recommendations designed to expedite decision-making for category managers.
• Convert intricate retail economics — including price elasticity, cannibalization, halo effects, and trade fund ROI — into clear product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria that can be effectively utilized by Engineering.
• Collaborate with Data Science to develop and implement machine learning-powered forecasting, demand modeling, and optimization features that are transparent enough for customers to trust and act upon.
• Engage directly with retail and CPG clients to validate the product direction, comprehend the actual processes behind pricing and promotional decisions, and facilitate the adoption of new capabilities.
• Assess technical trade-offs and guide architectural choices for AI-driven systems that must operate at enterprise retail scale — encompassing thousands of stores, millions of SKUs, and over 7,800 supplier connections.
• Spearhead go-to-market strategies for significant capability launches, which include sales enablement, competitive positioning, and post-launch iterations informed by actual adoption metrics.
• Keep abreast of market trends in AI/ML, retail pricing science, and competitive dynamics to guide strategic decisions.
• Over 5 years of experience in Product Management, successfully delivering scalable B2B or enterprise SaaS products with a proven history of measurable customer and business impact.
• In-depth domain knowledge in retail pricing optimization and trade promotion management, demonstrating fluency across both aspects of the pricing-to-promotion lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of retail economics, including price elasticity, demand forecasting, cannibalization modeling, promotional effectiveness, and trade fund governance, enabling conversations with both Data Scientists and Category Directors.
• Demonstrated ability to distill complex pricing and promotional challenges into precise product requirements and prioritized roadmaps within Agile frameworks.
• Direct experience interacting with enterprise retail or CPG customers, understanding their decision-making processes, the challenges they face, and what effective solutions look like in practice.
• Exceptional communication skills across various functions and levels, ensuring alignment among engineering, data science, UX, and executive stakeholders around a unified product vision.
• Experience in building or managing AI-native products, agentic systems, or LLM-powered decision workflows within a retail or CPG context.
• Practical experience with trade promotion management platforms, retailer-CPG collaboration systems, or workflows related to deductions and fund management.
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures (Azure, AWS), microservices, and RESTful APIs, sufficient to assess technical trade-offs with Engineering.
• Background in category management, pricing science, or demand planning at a retailer or CPG organization.
• MBA or an advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, or Operations Research.
