Senior Product Manager, AI Platform Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Define and enhance GitLab's AI Platform Management features throughout the platform, focusing on the AI Control Plane.

• Influence the governance, orchestration, and auditing capabilities, assisting teams in making informed decisions in uncertain environments, and building trust with engineering, design, and partner teams.

• Spearhead product discovery and implementation for AI Control Plane features that enable administrators to oversee AI usage within GitLab.

• Set the product vision for configuration and governance experiences involving agents, Model Context Protocol servers, tools, skills, and approval workflows.

• Collaborate intimately with engineering, design, and partner teams across AI Governance and associated product groups.

• Promote alignment among stakeholders by presenting trade-offs, alternatives, and product recommendations based on customer and business impact.

• Take ownership of prioritization decisions for a platform area that caters to multiple teams and products.

• Collaborate with engineering managers and technical leaders globally to deliver platform capabilities in a distributed and asynchronous environment.

• Tackle cross-functional challenges with determination, using escalation judiciously and only after exploring options with peers.

• Clearly communicate strategy, decisions, and progress to ensure teams can advance with shared context and accountability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in developing products for AI platforms, AI configuration, governance, or other platform capabilities rather than merely utilizing third-party AI tools.

• Ability to navigate ambiguous and evolving technical landscapes and convert them into clear product direction and execution strategies.

• Proficiency in cross-functional collaboration with engineering, design, and partner teams, including managing disagreements and driving decisions through influence.

• Discernment to present structured alternatives, trade-offs, and recommendations to leaders instead of escalating issues without context.

• Ownership mentality with a strong sense of accountability, urgency, and follow-through in a role that necessitates persistence.

• Comfort in navigating a large, matrixed organization where progress relies on coordination among various stakeholders and teams.

• Communication abilities that facilitate clear written and verbal collaboration in a distributed, asynchronous environment.

• Openness to candidates with relevant product experience from adjacent platform or infrastructure sectors, particularly where AI, governance, or administrative control play a central role.
