Senior Product Engineer - Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Develop highly scalable and resilient backend services utilizing Go — encompassing core ingestion pipelines, edge processing, and usage-based billing infrastructure.

• Address data engineering challenges at scale, including efficiently querying terabytes of data in ClickHouse and ensuring the accuracy of complex metering systems.

• Work alongside product teams to assess the economic viability of technical designs, ensuring maximum value for customers — you are a Product Engineer, not merely a coder.

• Design and enhance backend systems to manage billions of observability signals with minimal latency and high reliability.

• Establish standards for code quality and testing, acting as a mentor to the team and ensuring systems remain maintainable as we expand.

• Promote best practices for Go services and OpenTelemetry distributions throughout the engineering organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in building and scaling distributed backend systems, predominantly using Go.

• Knowledge of high-performance data stores such as ClickHouse or messaging systems like Kafka.

• A product-oriented mindset — you prioritize the end-user experience and consider the business implications of your technical choices.

• Strong grasp of observability principles, including practical experience with OpenTelemetry and Prometheus.

• Proven experience in designing for reliability, scalability, and operational excellence within production environments.
