This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the execution of intricate privacy consulting projects from start to finish, ensuring a premium experience for both clients and team members.
• Lead and mentor a team of consultants and senior consultants, providing consistent feedback, coaching, and growth opportunities aligned with their personal goals.
• Foster a robust, values-driven team culture that emphasizes collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and psychological safety.
• Act as a cultural ambassador at Zaviant—advocating for transparency, inclusivity, and a collective sense of purpose throughout the team.
• Work alongside leadership to establish team norms, assist with hiring and onboarding, and ensure resource allocation meets both team welfare and business needs.
• Direct client privacy initiatives across various domains, including GDPR, CPRA, HIPAA, GLBA, and other emerging regulatory frameworks.
• Lead the design of privacy programs, conduct maturity assessments, plan remediation strategies, and operationalize privacy approaches.
• Assist in the enablement of privacy technology—particularly utilizing tools like OneTrust—from selection and setup to ongoing enhancements.
• Execute and supervise essential privacy activities such as DPIAs, data mapping, policy creation, and training implementations.
• Collaborate with business development to spot new opportunities, support proposals, and strengthen relationships through thoughtful solution design and execution.
• Remain updated on privacy regulations, industry best practices, and emerging technologies—and ensure the team is well-equipped and informed.
• Over 8 years of experience in privacy, data protection, or compliance, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or consulting capacity.
• Proven track record of leading and nurturing high-performing, mission-driven teams.
• In-depth understanding of global privacy regulations (GDPR, CPRA, VCDPA, CTCPA, HIPAA, GLBA, etc.).
• Extensive experience in delivering privacy program assessments, frameworks, and implementations across various sectors.
• Practical experience with privacy technology platforms (notably OneTrust).
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; capable of leading with empathy and fostering trust at all levels.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguous situations and devising creative, scalable solutions that address both client and team requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Business, Legal, or a related field; advanced degree is preferred.
• IAPP Certifications are mandatory (CIPP/US or CIPP/E); CIPM or CIPT certifications are highly favorable.
