This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a senior technical authority within informatics by establishing and enforcing technical standards, guiding significant design choices, and making final decisions regarding technical trade-offs and risk management.
• Proven capability to utilize informatics (data, ML, AI) for the discovery and development of materials.
• Provide comprehensive technical leadership for highly intricate engineering projects and programs, ensuring robust architecture, technical integrity, safety, quality, and closure of lifecycle risks.
• Take ownership of critical projects and technical deliverables that contribute to the success of Informatics within the MPE team.
• Serve as a key technical resource and subject matter expert in Informatics, offering direction to project teams, suppliers, customers, and stakeholders.
• Review and endorse engineering documentation, deliverables, deviations, and waivers to guarantee adherence to internal requirements, external regulations, and industry standards.
• Collaborate closely with the Sciences - MPE Chief Engineer to evaluate designs, align strategies, and offer technical guidance.
• Facilitate problem-solving across various disciplines and pinpoint technical risks and mitigations at the system level.
• Identify opportunities for innovation by keeping track of relevant technologies, regulations, competitors, and industry trends; support external engagement through conferences, academic collaborations, and technical forums.
• Engage with customers, suppliers, internal teams, and external entities to address the most complex technical challenges and support successful project delivery.
• Utilize data and AI/ML tools to expedite design space exploration, automate analyses, and enhance defect detection and root-cause analysis.
• Mentor and guide Principal and developing engineers to enhance technical judgment, foster knowledge sharing, and build engineering capabilities.
• Lead the creation of technical standards, best practices, design methodologies, and process enhancements, while nurturing a culture of curiosity, continuous improvement, and inclusion.
• Master’s degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
• Minimum of 8 years of additional experience in an engineering role.
• Must be eligible to work under export control MPE regulations.
• Willingness to travel as needed, including internationally.
