Senior Principal Backup Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and uphold the architecture of Cyber Recovery vaults.

• Oversee operations of air-gapped vaults.

• Set up policies for vaults and manage replication schedules.

• Validate copies within the cyber recovery framework.

• Execute cyber recovery drills and conduct tabletop exercises.

• Troubleshoot jobs related to Cyber Recovery and ensure vault synchronization.

• Analyze logs and monitor backup activities, identifying errors and anomalies while recommending corrective measures.

• Install, upgrade, and configure backup appliances.

• Optimize and troubleshoot the performance of the backup environment.

• Handle high-priority tickets and critical incidents.

• Install and configure data protection software along with its components.

• Establish data duplication disk pools and associated backup devices.

• Ensure continuous replication between different locations.

• Execute system recovery and perform data restorations.

• Diagnose platform-related issues and assist with root cause analysis as well as change/risk assessment.

• Aid in the planning and implementation of system and process improvements.

• Investigate, analyze, and resolve fundamental SAN or NAS issues.

• Configure and manage users, groups, permissions, and relevant system access protocols.

• Create automated solutions, backup policies, procedures, and improvements for processes.

• Monitor system performance and produce reports and analyses on storage resources.

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS degree with 6-8 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Eligibility for any necessary U.S. Government authorizations under U.S. export control regulations.

• Proficiency with DataDomain, Avamar, and PPDM.

• Experience in designing and maintaining Cyber Recovery vault architecture.

• Experience in managing air-gapped vault operations.

• Familiarity with configuring vault policies and replication schedules.

• Experience in validating cyber-recovery copies and facilitating cyber recovery drills/tabletop exercises.

• Expertise in troubleshooting Cyber Recovery jobs and ensuring vault synchronization.

• Experience with backup appliances, data protection software, SAN/NAS, system access protocols, and performance tuning of backup environments.
