This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Asia, +3 more states.
• Conduct steady-state and dynamic power system analyses, including load flow, contingency, short-circuit, RMS stability, voltage stability, and reactive power evaluations.
• Create and maintain network models utilizing PSS®E and/or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
• Establish study assumptions, scenarios, and contingencies.
• Analyze study outcomes, pinpoint network constraints and stability risks, and devise technically sound mitigation strategies.
• Undertake technical evaluations addressing generator and converter model validation, dynamic model tuning, stability enhancement techniques, and network constraint alleviation.
• Examine model convergence, initialization, and dynamic performance challenges, identify root causes, and implement technical resolutions.
• Contribute to grid connection studies for solar, wind, BESS, HVDC, and other converter-based technologies.
• Evaluate system impacts of inverter-based resources and suggest mitigation strategies.
• Oversee the technical execution of studies from project initiation to final reporting.
• Collaborate with internal teams for inputs, modeling, and validation.
• Review and validate the work of junior engineers when necessary.
• Lead specific study tasks and provide technical direction to junior engineers.
• Prepare technical reports and deliverables.
• Present findings and conclusions to internal teams and clients.
• Facilitate technical discussions with clients.
• Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and technical enhancements.
• Assist in the development and adoption of internal tools, automation scripts, and AI-assisted workflows.
• Master’s degree in electrical engineering (Power Systems or a related field).
• Generally, 8+ years of experience in power system studies.
• Experience in grid connection, transmission planning, or renewable integration initiatives.
• Extensive experience in load flow, contingency, short-circuit, power quality, voltage stability, and RMS stability analyses.
• Proficiency in developing, tuning, calibrating, and validating dynamic power system models.
• Capability to troubleshoot complex modeling issues and produce technically credible simulations.
• Ability to define study scope and assumptions, structure analyses autonomously, interpret and question results.
• Practical experience with renewable energy integration, encompassing solar, wind, BESS, HVDC, or converter-based resources.
• Solid understanding of transmission planning criteria, grid codes, and power system operational principles.
• Advanced hands-on experience with PSS®E and/or DIgSILENT PowerFactory, including large-scale network modeling, automation workflows, and dynamic model application.
• Ability to manage large-scale network models.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Capacity to work independently and as part of international teams.
• Competence to work efficiently under tight project deadlines across multiple simultaneous assignments.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with the capability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
