This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Facilitate consultations on cybersecurity by introducing system teams to OCISO processes and the requirements for Authorization and Assessment (A&A), while documenting actions, decisions, and follow-up items.
• Analyze Binding Operational Directives (BODs), Executive Orders, policy changes, and evolving security standards to develop compliance implementation strategies.
• Lead the planning, execution, and ongoing enhancement of the enterprise Security Awareness and Training Program.
• Create training materials, campaigns, workshops, and effectiveness metrics.
• Examine cybersecurity audit data and Security Risk Assessment results to identify trends, emerging risks, and opportunities for enhancing security posture.
• Act as a senior stakeholder for IT security policy, compliance, and cybersecurity training initiatives.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and compliance documentation that align with RMF, NIST, and organizational requirements.
• Oversee compliance tracking, reporting, and audit readiness based on RMF and NIST standards.
• Ensure that cybersecurity, system, network, and Section 508 accessibility requirements are included in IT projects, contracts, acquisitions, and procurement activities.
• Provide counsel to executive leadership on compliance risks, policy gaps, workforce training strategies, and the performance of the cybersecurity program through briefings, presentations, and reports.
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity process owners to align compliance, governance, and training initiatives with operational goals.
• 4–6 years of experience in cybersecurity, showcasing expertise in policy, compliance, and training.
• Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) in a cyber-related discipline; direct experience or certifications may substitute for formal academic credentials.
• Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST standards, and federal compliance requirements.
• Strong grasp of cybersecurity and privacy laws, regulations, and policies.
• Capability to assess and mitigate risks, conduct audits, and provide assurance reporting.
• Proficiency in translating complex compliance requirements into actionable guidance and training.
• Experience supporting federal compliance programs and audits.
• Background in Security Management Support Services.
• Proven ability to lead policy initiatives, resolve both business and technical challenges, and present findings to senior executives.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and executing executive presentations, demonstrations, and reports.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CAP are highly preferred.
• Ability to work remotely in a quiet, distraction-free environment with reliable internet.
• Commitment to full attention and availability during working hours, aligning schedules with coworkers and clients during core business hours.
• Disclosure of current or future outside employment engagements and obtaining written approval for outside employment or professional activities.
• Capability to sit or stand at a desk for extended periods and engage in consistent computer operation.
• Frequent communication via electronic means, phone, and in-person interactions.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move moderate weights, typically less than 20 pounds.
