Senior Platform Engineer, Voice Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and expand Conquer’s telephony systems that facilitate real-time sales workflows within Salesforce.

• Address reliability, performance, and infrastructure issues while influencing the future direction of our platform.

• Design, construct, and enhance Conquer’s telephony infrastructure and its supporting services.

• Manage integrations with both domestic and international SIP Trunking providers.

• Engage directly in production environments to troubleshoot real-time call quality and reliability challenges.

• Enhance observability across the voice stack, encompassing SIP, RTP, and media pathways.

• Develop and refine call routing, dialing workflows, and real-time communication services.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer teams to enhance the calling experience.

• Contribute to architectural decisions, including ongoing improvements to the platform and orchestration.

• Document systems and create runbooks to bolster team understanding and operational readiness.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in backend, platform, or infrastructure engineering.

• Significant experience with telephony systems, including OpenSIPS and FreeSWITCH.

• Proficiency in debugging SIP and RTP issues using tools such as packet captures or SIP traces.

• Experience in operating and managing real-time systems within production settings.

• Strong capability to troubleshoot complex telephony issues, including SIP signaling, RTP/media paths, and call quality concerns.

• Experience in designing and maintaining reliable, scalable systems with an emphasis on performance and uptime.

• Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and incident response in production environments.

• Experience in building or maintaining backend services using programming languages such as Python or Go.

• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to cross-functional teams.
