
Senior Platform Engineer – Kubernetes, Linux

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Manage, enhance, and ensure the security of multiple Kubernetes clusters operating on virtual machines.
• Oversee Linux-based systems, including physical servers, virtual machines, and NAS devices.
• Develop and maintain a stable, manageable, and auditable platform environment.
• Automate operational, deployment, and maintenance tasks (Bash is essential; familiarity with additional tools is a plus).
• Implement security-by-design principles: system hardening, access management, secrets handling, logging, monitoring, and traceability.
• Execute the technical implementation of requirements from C5 and ISO 27018, converting standards into specific technical controls.
• Create audit-ready structures, documentation, and evidence.
• Handle incidents within the infrastructure context (2nd-level), including analysis and sustainable remediation.
• Collaborate closely with external security and compliance partners.
• Continuously enhance the stability, security, and transparency of our systems.
• Multiple years of experience in managing complex Linux infrastructures.
• Strong practical experience with Kubernetes in production settings.
• Profound knowledge of Linux systems, networking, and storage solutions.
• Exceptional Bash programming skills with a proactive automation mindset.
• Comprehensive understanding of IT security, including system and network hardening, access control, identity management, logging, monitoring, and incident response.
• Experience or a strong interest in security and compliance topics such as C5, ISO 27018, or similar standards.
• Capability to pragmatically and technically implement security and compliance requirements.
• A structured and responsible working approach—designing systems that can endure an audit.
• Passion for building systems from the ground up and maintaining them for the long term.
• Proficient German language skills.
