Senior Platform Engineer, Data Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain services that manage user controls, identity, and security across the data platform.

• Create and enhance secure content sharing capabilities, ensuring that data is available to the appropriate users under suitable conditions.

• Contribute to internal reporting and analytics tools that present platform data to both internal and external users.

• Engage with Dgraph internals as necessary while also developing services and applications utilizing Dgraph.

• Collaborate with platform, integrations, and infrastructure teams to ensure consistency in identity and security practices throughout the broader ecosystem.

• Influence decisions regarding data access patterns, permissions models, and secure sharing architecture.

• Produce high-quality, thoroughly tested code in Go and Python, focusing on reliability, security, and performance.

• Take part in design reviews and help shape the technical direction of the data platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, particularly in backend/platform engineering.

• Strong expertise in Go and Python.

• Experience in developing systems related to identity, access control, permissions, or security—demonstrating an understanding of the trade-offs in creating secure, scalable systems.

• Comfortable working across the stack, with a preference and strength in backend/services development.

• Experience with graph databases (Dgraph or similar) is highly desirable; a keen interest in database internals is also beneficial.

• A solid grasp of system reliability, security, and performance optimization.

• Excellent communication abilities and skill in collaborating cross-functionally with platform and infrastructure teams.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Must be a US citizen or a permanent resident residing within the United States.
