Senior Platform Engineer – Cloud Architecture, AI Platforms

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and manage AWS multi-account architectures, encompassing VPC networking, security measures, and shared-services frameworks to facilitate AI workloads.

• Develop and sustain scalable computing environments using ECS Fargate, EKS, and Lambda for both application and model hosting.

• Execute Infrastructure as Code (IaC) through AWS CDK (preferred) or Terraform to establish and oversee the entire AI platform stack.

• Create and supervise CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, integrating blue/green and canary methodologies for model deployments.

• Design and manage data services, including RDS (Aurora), S3, and Vector Databases (e.g., Pinecone, pgvector) to support RAG and other AI frameworks.

• Collaborate with the AI Innovation Group to operationalize models utilizing AWS SageMaker, Bedrock, and Azure OpenAI Service.

• Implement thorough observability for infrastructure and model performance, monitoring for latency, drift, and resource usage.

• Ensure platform durability and security by defining disaster recovery strategies and enforcing stringent IAM policies for sensitive information.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure.

• Extensive knowledge of AWS core services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3) and networking (Transit Gateways, Route 53).

• Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code, particularly with AWS CDK or Terraform.

• Experience in container orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS or ECS) and Docker.

• Proficient in Python for scripting and automation; familiarity with API frameworks (FastAPI) is advantageous.

• Knowledge of MLOps practices and tools (SageMaker, MLflow, Kubeflow) and deploying LLMs in production.

• Experience in designing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) for both code and data/model workflows.

• Understanding of database architecture, including relational (PostgreSQL) and vector stores.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
