This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +28 more states.
• Provision and oversee cloud infrastructure encompassing compute, networking, storage, and managed databases.
• Ensure uniformity across development, staging, and production environments.
• Strategize and carry out workload migrations among cloud providers with minimal disruption.
• Identify and implement opportunities for infrastructure cost optimization.
• Construct and maintain CI/CD pipelines within a multi-repository setting.
• Execute deployment strategies such as blue/green, canary, and rolling deployments.
• Develop automation tools and scripts to minimize manual effort and enhance delivery speed.
• Author and sustain Terraform infrastructure across multi-account, multi-environment systems.
• Establish Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards, module reuse patterns, and state management practices.
• Propel infrastructure modifications through version-controlled, peer-reviewed workflows.
• Engage in on-call rotation and spearhead incident response initiatives.
• Maintain observability via dashboards, alerting, logging, and SLO tracking.
• Conduct post-incident reviews and execute long-term remediation strategies.
• Manage secrets, certificates, and access controls while adhering to least-privilege principles.
• Implement security best practices across infrastructure, containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Support audit and compliance efforts through documentation and access reviews.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure guidance and service design.
• Create architectural documentation, runbooks, and operational guides.
• Assist in developing self-service platform capabilities for engineering teams.
• Over 5 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Proficient in AWS with services such as EC2, EKS/ECS, VPC, Route 53, IAM, S3, EBS, and CloudWatch.
• Extensive experience with Terraform in multi-environment configurations.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, ECS, Docker, ArgoCD, and Helm in production settings.
• Proven experience in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
• Strong background in observability and monitoring tools (Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, New Relic, etc.).
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, TLS, VPNs, load balancing, and VPC design.
• Previous experience as a network engineer is preferred.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and MySQL compatible database administration is preferred.
• Experience with Google Cloud or Azure is preferred.
• Kubernetes, AWS, or Terraform certification is preferred.
