Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +13 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of our core cloud services and tools. You will oversee our cloud networks, security protocols, and various foundational cloud services. Our engineering team builds cloud infrastructure on this base, utilizing infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.

• Manage our application platform. You will be responsible for administering our Kubernetes clusters to support the engineering team’s requirements. You will investigate new tools and services that enhance the security and reliability of our applications hosted on this platform.

• Enhance our developer experience. You will guide engineers on best practices for utilizing and deploying to the platform. You will manage our CI/CD and other internal tools to simplify this process as much as possible.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Systems Engineering.

• Proficient in at least one high-level programming language, such as Python, Go, or another language of your preference.

• Solid understanding of networking, containers, security, and scalability.

• Strong fundamentals in Kubernetes and experience with Helm or other widely-used tools in the ecosystem.

• Proficient in infrastructure as code skills (we utilize Terraform).

• Extensive experience across various cloud services from a major cloud provider (we use AWS).

• Familiarity with observability platforms (we use Datadog).

• Experience in creating CI/CD pipelines (we use GitHub Actions).

• Participation in an on-call rotation to address urgent issues.

• The following are preferred but not mandatory:

• Experience with Kubernetes tools such as Vault, Sealed Secrets, Consul, Prometheus, etc.

• Experience with data platforms like Snowflake and experience in building and managing data infrastructure.

• Knowledge of cybersecurity and/or regulatory compliance (HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc).

We determine our salary ranges based on compensation data from hundreds of NYC-based startups at our stage. Additionally, pay is not location-dependent. The salary range for this position is between $170,000 and $240,000, depending on experience and interview performance. This position also includes equity and excellent benefits!
