Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure systematically using infrastructure as code, most likely through Terraform.

• Design and uphold CI/CD workflows, which include Git-based processes and GitHub Actions.

• Implement and oversee observability, monitoring, and alerting utilizing tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.

• Drive initiatives in vulnerability scanning, dependency management, and system hardening.

• Administer Linux systems as needed, encompassing shell scripting, troubleshooting, and more.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with one or more leading cloud providers, including AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Strong grasp of cloud architecture, networking, and security, with a track record of designing and managing production systems.

• Experience in deploying and operating managed relational, non-relational, and vector databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL via Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Weaviate, or Milvus.

• Familiarity with contemporary authentication and identity tools, including managed platforms like Auth0, Clerk, and Zitadel.

• Knowledge of modern managed platform services such as Vercel, Neon, and associated developer infrastructure tools.

• A robust operational mindset, demonstrated by experience in enhancing reliability, security, monitoring, deployment workflows, and incident response.

• Sound judgment regarding the use of managed services versus maintaining more infrastructure under direct control within a major cloud provider, especially in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Strong expertise in infrastructure as code tools, with a clear understanding of how to maintain infrastructure in a manageable, consistent, and well-structured manner across an expanding product portfolio.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills, along with a practical approach to deciding when to enhance or extend existing systems versus undertaking a complete rebuild.
