Senior PHP & Symfony Software Engineer, Full-Stack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and uphold high-quality backend systems utilizing PHP and Symfony.

• Take full ownership of features from inception, including ticket creation, technical design, and production deployment.

• Craft clean, strongly-typed, maintainable, and testable code that adheres to rigorous quality standards.

• Thoughtfully and consistently apply design patterns.

• Construct and uphold comprehensive automated test coverage with tools such as PHPUnit.

• Advocate for and adhere to Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.

• Employ static analysis, linters, and code quality tools to guarantee reliability and consistency.

• Actively engage in code reviews, offering and receiving constructive feedback.

• Collaborate closely with product, design, and QA teams to create robust solutions.

• Decompose complex projects into clearly defined, actionable tasks and oversee their implementation.

• Monitor systems and partake in a rotating on-call schedule as needed.

• Champion secure coding practices and ensure code is devoid of known vulnerabilities.

• Document architecture, decisions, and processes to facilitate team-wide knowledge sharing.

• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and foster a strong engineering culture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience with PHP (versions 7.4 / 8+).

• More than 3 years of practical experience with the Symfony framework.

• Strong comprehension and practical application of design patterns.

• Substantial experience in unit and integration testing (PHPUnit, Behat, or similar).

• Practical experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).

• Knowledge of static analysis tools (PHPStan, Psalm, or similar).

• Strong grasp of CI/CD pipelines, code coverage, and deployment workflows.

• Exceptional technical communication skills with the ability to explain and justify technical decisions.

• A strong sense of ownership and accountability.
