This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee a portfolio comprising 100–125 donors and prospects, focusing on major gifts ($100K–$1M) and principal gifts ($1M+).

• Independently implement gift strategies for amounts between $100K and $500K; collaborate with the AVP when managing solicitations of $500K–$1M.

• Collaborate closely with the AVP to create and execute strategies for gifts exceeding $1M, ensuring shared ownership of all strategy decisions.

• Meet the annual personal revenue target assigned based on portfolio potential, typically aiming for $2.5M-$3M in the first year, with growth to $3M–$5M thereafter.

• Maintain consistent pipeline growth, ensuring at least 10–15 qualified prospects with the capacity for $1M+ gifts are actively being cultivated at all times.

• Actively engage the AVP as a thought partner on strategies for gifts over $1M, bringing draft strategy documents, relationship context, and specific decision points to discussions.

• Establish and maintain complex, multi-year relationships with high-net-worth individuals and families capable of making gifts ranging from $100K to $5M+.

• Collaborate with chapter Territory Executives, Philanthropic Engagement roles, volunteer leaders, and national staff to develop and implement comprehensive donor strategies.

• Lead discussions regarding Planned Giving within the portfolio; develop blended gift strategies when applicable.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in major gift fundraising, with a proven track record of successfully closing gifts of $500,000 or more.

• Preferred experience within a matrixed, chapter-based organization or a similarly complex structure.

• Proven ability to develop and implement principal gift strategies ($1M+), with a demonstrated pipeline of qualified $1M+ prospects.

• Proactive and collaborative work style, demonstrating and encouraging active partnership with senior leadership on complex accounts.

• Strong relationship management capabilities with donors, advisors, volunteers, and cross-functional team members.

• Ability to create and present complex, multi-asset gift strategies, including outright, planned, and blended gifts.

• Proficient in Salesforce or a comparable CRM, with a strong emphasis on data discipline and an analytical approach to managing the portfolio.

• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.

• Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time, including occasional evenings and weekends.

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; advanced degree or CFRE designation preferred.
