Senior Performance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Create tools to assess and monitor performance bottlenecks within the application.

• Analyze reported performance concerns and convert them into reproducible test scenarios.

• Partner with production engineering and application engineering teams to design and implement production scenarios that evaluate code and third-party performance.

• Develop and execute PSR tests while measuring relevant statistics.

• Collaborate with various sub-teams to ensure the service level agreements (SLA) of their core APIs are tracked and upheld with each release.

• Conduct application and architecture code profiling.

• Perform infrastructure and application performance tuning.

• Troubleshoot performance-related issues.

• Ability to analyze large volumes of data, evaluate performance results, and identify performance issues.

• Engage in capacity estimating, modeling, or planning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.

• Over 5 years of experience in performance engineering.

• In-depth knowledge and extensive experience with tools such as LoadRunner/JMeter, as well as an understanding of APM solutions like Grafana, AppDynamics, and Dynatrace.

• Familiarity with microservice architectures, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Azure, GCP, and application monitoring tools.

• Strong capability in monitoring and analyzing application logs, database reports, and system metrics including CPU utilization, memory usage, network usage, garbage collection, and database parameters.

• Proven expertise in identifying potential performance issues and offering recommendations for performance enhancement.

• Proficient in JVM technology and troubleshooting JVM-related issues.

• Skilled in debugging applications in production environments at a large scale.

• Experience with JVM profiling, garbage collection analysis, and tuning.

• Familiarity with performance, load, stress, and scalability testing.
