Senior Performance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Create tools to assess and monitor performance bottlenecks within the application.

• Address reported performance issues and convert them into reproducible testing scenarios.

• Work in collaboration with production engineering and application engineering teams to design and implement production scenarios that evaluate code and third-party performance.

• Design and execute PSR tests while tracking their metrics.

• Coordinate with various sub-teams to ensure that the SLA of their core APIs is monitored and upheld across releases.

• Conduct application and architecture code profiling.

• Optimize infrastructure and application performance.

• Diagnose performance-related issues.

• Ability to analyze large volumes of data, interpret performance results, and identify performance challenges.

• Capacity estimation, modeling, or planning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline.

• Advanced degree is preferred.

• Over 5 years of professional experience in performance engineering.

• In-depth knowledge and substantial experience with tools such as LoadRunner/JMeter, along with a strong understanding of APM solutions like Grafana, AppDynamics, and Dynatrace.

• Familiarity with microservice architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Azure, GCP, and application monitoring tools.

• Strong skills in monitoring and analyzing application logs, database reports, and system metrics including CPU utilization, memory usage, network usage, garbage collection, and database parameters.

• Expertise in identifying potential performance issues and suggesting improvements.

• Proficient in JVM technology and troubleshooting JVM issues.

• Skilled in debugging applications in production at scale, including JVM profiling, GC analysis, and tuning experience.

• Experience with performance, load, stress, and scalability testing.
