Senior Oracle Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Conduct routine monitoring, upkeep, and troubleshooting of Oracle 12c, 19c, and 21c environments.

• Proactively detect performance bottlenecks by utilizing AWR, ADDM, and ASH reports, and optimize intricate SQL queries along with memory configurations.

• Oversee and maintain Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate for real-time data replication and disaster recovery solutions.

• Carry out quarterly RU/PSU patching and ensure adherence to security protocols (encryption, auditing, and user access management).

• Spearhead the migration of on-premises databases to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS (RDS/EC2), or Azure platforms.

• Implement and manage Autonomous Databases (ADW/ATP) and Exadata Cloud Service offerings.

• Employ Terraform or Ansible to automate the provisioning and configuration management of databases.

• Support the design of scalable, multi-tenant architectures that align with the long-term digital transformation objectives of clients.

• Ensure all database services consistently meet or surpass established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

• Convert technical database concepts into business value for stakeholders.

• Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for significant production outages.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7–8 years of focused Oracle DBA experience, ideally within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) or a large-scale enterprise setting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification is mandatory; OCI Solutions Architect or Autonomous Database Specialist certifications are strongly preferred.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage client expectations effectively during high-pressure migration scenarios.
