Senior Node.js Engineer, TypeScript, AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Develop and deploy APIs and serverless solutions utilizing Node.js/TypeScript on AWS Lambda.

• Establish and sustain event-driven architectures for the ingestion of IoT telemetry.

• Enhance Aurora PostgreSQL data models and efficiently manage time-series data.

• Implement comprehensive observability with actionable alarms, logs, metrics, and traces.

• Adhere to security best practices: employing IAM least-privilege principles, managing secrets, and ensuring encryption.

• Construct and oversee CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and handle private npm packages via AWS CodeArtifact.

• Guide engineers, elevate coding standards, and promote enhancements to the platform.

• Oversee operational risks including concurrency, cold starts, service limits, and capacity planning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive background in backend development using Node.js/TypeScript, with experience in designing REST APIs and/or event-driven architectures.

• Demonstrated proficiency in AWS serverless technologies: Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, and at least two integration services (API Gateway, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, Kinesis, Step Functions).

• Strong understanding of PostgreSQL along with practical experience in Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL (modeling, indexing, performance, transactions, troubleshooting).

• Experience handling high-frequency time-series data: ingestion, window queries, aggregations, and retention policies.

• Regular use of GitHub for PRs, code reviews, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with best practices in testing (unit/integration), observability, and security (secrets management, OWASP, authentication/authorization).

• Proficiency in technical English for creating documentation, specifications, and code comments.
