Senior Network Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Investigating and resolving issues related to routing and switching within large-scale network environments to guarantee uninterrupted connectivity and operational effectiveness.

• Effectively troubleshooting problems in backbone, transport, and fabric network topologies to ensure smooth functionality and peak performance.

• Leading and facilitating the resolution of critical technical incidents in an efficient and effective manner.

• Offering expertise during incident responses and performing operational reviews to ensure thorough analysis and resolution.

• Designing, developing, and maintaining alerts, runbooks, dashboards, and monitoring tools to improve fault detection and operational transparency.

• Developing and maintaining operational tools, automation processes, and technical documentation to support large network infrastructures effectively and efficiently.

• Installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing routers and switches.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess a High School diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Have over 5 years of practical experience in operating and supporting extensive network environments.

• Exhibit excellent communication, stakeholder management, and customer service abilities.

• Demonstrate proficiency in IP networking, routing, and switching; relevant certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, or similar are preferred.

• Have experience operating and troubleshooting service provider networks and Internet routing protocols, including BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, and MPLS.

• Experience in writing, modifying, and troubleshooting SQL queries is required.

• Possess hands-on experience with Linux/Unix systems and relevant tools.
