This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• The Senior Network Engineer addresses larger and more intricate LAN/WLAN/WAN challenges.
• Facilitates high-level installation, configuration, documentation, management, and troubleshooting of network communication devices.
• Acts as the regional contact for network-related issues.
• Oversees configuration and communications interconnection concerns.
• Tackles multi-protocol routing and network management challenges.
• Provides written recommendations through tickets, formal standards, or updates to existing guidelines.
• Offers expert advice on LAN/WLAN/WAN design, deployment, implementation, and standardization to further the MHS mission.
• Possession of an active Secret clearance.
• Compliance with DoD 8570.01 / 8570.01-M at IAM Level III or an equivalent standard.
• Required experience in DoD Health Care Information Systems.
• Mastery-level knowledge of standard networking protocols and technologies, such as TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, RSTP, VRRP, BIND, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, PPP, HDLC, V.35, RS-449, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, FDDI, ATM, and 802-series communication standards.
• Mastery-level expertise in routed, switched, and shared LAN environments utilizing supported Microsoft OS, Windows Active Directory, UNIX, OpenVMS, routers, switches, terminal servers, local WAN, and long-haul WAN connectivity.
• Practical experience with SolarWinds Orion, ARMIS, Ansible, MIB, MRTG-type monitoring tools, diagnostic utilities, network administration tools, OTDR, cable testers, network sniffers, and EIA/TIA cable standards.
• Capability to establish and configure network firewalls, VPN devices, and IDS systems.
• Proficiency in leading network specialists and collaborating with Government personnel, medical staff, other contractors, the NetMOD Network Standards Team, and both internal and external organizations.
