Network Engineer – Juniper Focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Oversee and sustain the Monitoring Systems.

• Conduct comprehensive fault troubleshooting, problem identification, and implement corrective actions or escalate to network engineering for support.

• Collaborate and engage in discussions with third-party suppliers to troubleshoot issues, perform upgrades, mitigate service impacts, manage network changes, and escalate as necessary.

• Provision and configure core network devices and tools, such as IP assignment, core network configuration, DNS setup, monitoring software for essential equipment, NNI ports and services, and implement MOPs for controlled core and edge network modifications.

• Build, install, and configure network equipment.

• Conduct and maintain audits of hardware, serial numbers, security, and configurations.

• Develop custom monitoring plugins and configure tailored graphing solutions.

• Update and maintain WIKI and technical documentation (for NOC) regarding processes and procedures applied during standard operations.

• Enhance knowledge and skills in network and system administration.

• Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for all core network datacenter services, infrastructure, access network, and AireSpring services.

• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation if necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Network Operations is essential.

• Advanced knowledge in the following areas is preferred: Strong troubleshooting expertise in TCP/IP routing protocols including STP, VRRP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and IPSec.

• Solid understanding of WAN technologies.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, and Adtran routing, switching, and firewall devices.

• Proficient in VOIP, VPNs, and security protocols.

• Experience with SD-WAN deployment is advantageous.

• Required certifications include JNCIA or CCNA; JNCIP or CCNP is preferred.

• Strong familiarity with Linux OS and networking.

• Experience with centralized device monitoring and management tools.

• Comprehensive knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting.

• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Proven capacity to analyze complex situations and apply troubleshooting skills, systems and tools, as well as creative problem-solving abilities under pressure.

• Capability to work within a global team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
