HPC Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

📋 Description

• Assist in deploying, configuring, and maintaining InfiniBand and Ethernet network systems.

• Aid in diagnosing network problems, such as connectivity issues, latency, and performance declines.

• Oversee network performance and health using standard monitoring tools and help identify potential bottlenecks.

• Collaborate with senior engineers while working with InfiniBand technologies (switches, HCAs, subnet managers).

• Support the management and troubleshooting of Fortinet solutions (FortiGate, VPNs, firewall configurations).

• Help implement network configurations, including routing and segmentation.

• Work together with compute and storage teams to facilitate HPC and AI workloads.

• Engage in incident response and operational support tasks.

• Contribute to the documentation of network configurations and operational procedures.

• Acquire knowledge and adopt automation tools and practices (e.g., Ansible, scripting).

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in networking, systems engineering, or infrastructure positions.

• Basic knowledge of networking principles (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs).

• Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line utilities.

• Experience in data center networking or distributed systems environments.

• Strong desire to learn and build expertise in InfiniBand and HPC networking.

• Exposure to InfiniBand or high-performance networking concepts is preferred.

• Familiarity with Fortinet or similar firewall technologies is preferred.

• Basic scripting abilities (e.g., Bash or Python) are preferred.

• Understanding of monitoring tools and troubleshooting strategies is preferred.
