
Senior Network Deployment Engineer, PoP Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
• Oversee the complete provisioning process for network services, including wavelengths, Ethernet, IP transit, dark fiber, and subsea IRU.
• Collaborate with carriers and data centers to monitor orders, delivery timelines, and handoff procedures.
• Record Letters of Authorization (LOAs), Customer Facility Agreements (CFAs), and circuit information in inventory and ticketing systems.
• Assist in circuit testing and troubleshooting during the activation phase.
• Identify and acquire Points of Presence (PoP) space, power, cross-connects, and associated services.
• Lead vendor selection processes, contract negotiations, and Service Level Agreement (SLA) management.
• Coordinate PoP handover timelines with network deployment and engineering teams, as well as legal and procurement departments.
• Manage site readiness timelines, equipment logistics, and service requests.
• Strategize for power capacity, rack utilization, and future expansion opportunities.
• Evaluate vendor performance, oversee operational costs, and ensure compliance with contracts.
• Keep documentation updated for contracts, power allocations, and deployment standards.
• Assist with PoP expansions, upgrades, and decommissioning efforts.
• Ensure projects remain on schedule in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• A Bachelor’s degree in network engineering, telecommunications, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• A minimum of 8 years of pertinent work experience.
• Proficiency in transport technologies such as DWDM, Ethernet, OTN, and MPLS.
• Technical expertise in datacenter rack and power infrastructure and equipment.
• Understanding of LOA/CFA, cross-connects, and datacenter environments.
• Capability to convert engineering requirements into Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and carrier service orders.
• Experience in researching, negotiating, and leasing space/power for Points of Presence (PoPs).
• Specialized knowledge in the end-to-end procurement of subsea, spectrum, and IRU assets.
• Proven ability in executing global sourcing initiatives across various international markets.
• Detail-oriented with a demonstrated capacity to multitask in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities and requirements.
