This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee and direct the design of intricate, multi-phase MuleSoft integration projects while ensuring compliance with API-led connectivity and integration methodologies.
• Recognize opportunities for improvement in clients' IT operational frameworks and aid in the execution of the SLDC pipeline to maximize the benefits of the MuleSoft platform.
• Establish and promote enterprise integration best practices, reference architectures, foundational resources, and API patterns to enhance platform adoption and reuse.
• Institute and uphold DevOps models, CI/CD pipelines, and operational standards, including monitoring, alerting, and comprehensive API lifecycle management.
• Expand best practices on a global scale through reusable resources, reference architectures, and implementations.
• Empower field teams and partners to enhance delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Facilitate requirements workshops and produce architectural blueprint documents to steer the strategic direction of projects.
• Direct product strategy and feature delivery by identifying gaps and offering valuable insights to leadership.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to client executives and internal sales/delivery teams throughout the pre-sales and project delivery phases.
• Guide and mentor junior architects, engineers, and consultants on technical design principles, implementation methodologies, and best practices for client engagement.
• Lead decision-making for intricate technical challenges, balancing project scope, time-to-market, and technical debt across integration solutions.
• Collaborate with MuleSoft Product Management and Engineering teams to communicate field feedback and influence the future development of the platform.
• Active Secret level security clearance.
• Over 10 years of IT experience with a minimum of 5 years in leading complex integration and solution architecture projects.
• At least 2 years of hands-on MuleSoft experience or similar background, including expertise in designing and implementing API-led connectivity and integration patterns.
• Proven proficiency in High Availability (HA), Scalability, the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and comprehensive API lifecycle management.
• Demonstrated ability to architect, implement, and support enterprise-grade technical solutions that meet complex business needs while advocating for integration methodologies and justifying business cases to C-level executives.
• Experience in managing the complete API lifecycle, from design and integration development to deployment, operations, and governance.
• Outstanding customer-facing communication and expectation management skills, including the capacity to translate complex technical requirements into suitable solution architectures and deliverables.
• Proven experience in managing and architecting multiple technical integration projects using the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from beginning to end, often concurrently.
• Demonstrated experience in architecting service integrations with MuleSoft and other solutions (e.g., IBM, BEA, Oracle Fusion, TIBCO, Dell Boomi, Progress Sonic, API Management solutions, etc.).
• Strong understanding of API security principles, including authentication, authorization, and the implementation of security policies.
