• Conduct site feasibility assessments and oversee pre-construction activities.
• Prior to Primer signing a lease, you will have already analyzed the financials. You will be responsible for leading code analysis and zoning reviews, coordinating traffic and parking studies, conducting test fits and space programming, and making the final decision on new site acquisitions. Additionally, you will develop a diligence playbook to streamline future site evaluations, reducing the time from weeks to days.
• Manage permitting and project oversight across various jurisdictions, including building permits, fire life safety, ADA compliance, zoning variances, and changes of use.
• You will supervise civil engineers, fire life safety specialists, and local architects of record on each project, establishing solid relationships with code officials and inspectors in each city to ensure effective communication. You will handle multiple projects at varying stages while consistently meeting deadlines.
• Research and specify furniture, fixtures, equipment, and branded materials necessary for each Primer campus.
• You will create a vendor list and product catalog that other teams can use for ordering. Furthermore, you will identify value engineering opportunities that lead to cost savings without compromising the quality of the student experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural project management, interior design, or a related field, demonstrating full ownership from design through construction.
• Experience in developing design standards or prototypes for multi-location implementations is a significant advantage.
• A background in educational, retail, or hospitality environments, where physical space is crucial to user experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of building codes, ADA regulations, fire life safety standards, zoning laws, and permitting processes across various jurisdictions.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software, along with a solid understanding of project management tools.
• You will be responsible for creating the standards and playbooks that will serve as a foundation for others.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and vendors simultaneously without losing track of details.
• Primer is a mission-driven organization. We believe that our mission represents the most effective way to foster positive change.
