Remotery

Senior Mobile Engineer

Posted Jun 24

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the application and approval process: Take ownership of the iOS experience across our credit offerings — enhancing conversion rates, boosting funnel performance, and consistently elevating the standards for how users transition from application to active product engagement.

• Conduct experiments that progress the unified product vision: Test various product configurations and UX strategies that guide us toward a cohesive credit experience. You will work from hypothesis to evidence, validating what actually succeeds before scaling.

• Focus on outcomes: You will be assigned a metric — for instance, 40% conversion — and expected to enhance it through your problem-solving skills. This involves collaborating with design and product teams to pinpoint the right levers, rather than waiting for a detailed specification.

• Maintain precision in a regulated environment: Mistakes in credit products can lead to compliance implications, including corrective notices, potential refunds, and regulatory exposure. Your meticulousness is as critical as your engineering abilities.

• Expand to comprehensive iOS ownership: Work in tandem with a senior iOS engineer as they take on broader responsibilities across the organization. The journey to owning iOS for both products spans 6–12 months — this presents a tangible and imminent growth opportunity.

• Collaborate across the entire stack: Work alongside PMs, designers, data scientists, and backend engineers to develop credit experiences that are robust at every level — technically, experientially, and in compliance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as an iOS engineer creating consumer-focused mobile products. You possess the capability to manage technical trade-offs and maintain quality without extensive supervision.

• A background in consumer products is essential. You have developed products that users engage with on a daily basis. Candidates with experience primarily in iOS infrastructure (e.g., app loading times, build systems) or internal tools are not suitable for this role.

• Experience in product experimentation and analytics. You have worked with A/B testing frameworks — such as Statsig, LaunchDarkly, or similar — and analytics tools like Amplitude or FullStory. While the specific tools are less important, your ability to instrument experiments, analyze user behavior, and convert insights into product decisions is crucial.

• Outcome-driven rather than task-driven. You can identify a conversion issue and autonomously drive improvements — considering the funnel, collaborating with design, crafting experiments, and iterating — without the need for explicit guidance on the approach.

• A keen attention to detail that goes beyond code quality. You recognize that in a regulated product, the disparity between your intended output and the actual output has significant downstream impacts. You build with this awareness.

• Experience with Android or interest in cross-platform development is advantageous. We are actively investigating how mobile engineers can contribute across both iOS and Android platforms as these products evolve. This capability will be valued.

🏝️ Benefits

• Virtual-first collaboration: The Tilt team operates across 14 countries, 12 time zones, and growing. You will begin with a work-from-home office reimbursement.

• Competitive compensation: We value potential, reflected in our competitive salary packages and generous equity options.

• Comprehensive support: Access flexible health plans at every premium level, along with substantial subsidies that meet global standards.

• Direct visibility: You will have consistent access to our leadership team — we foster an environment where great ideas quickly gain traction.

• Funded global onsite gatherings: We believe in the magic of in-person interactions: we come together twice a year to reconnect over shared meals or kayaking adventures. (Past locations include Vail, San Diego, and Mexico City, among others.)

• Recognition of impact: Opportunities for growth will align with your contributions, rather than rigid promotion schedules.
