Senior Mobile Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement the strategy for migrating mobile applications from Android Kotlin to React Native, employing a modular architecture (MVVM/Clean Architecture).

• Enhance shared data contracts and types within a Turborepo monorepo setup to maintain consistency across cross-platform specifications.

• Create robust, offline-first operational screens for device monitoring, alerts, and synchronization to ensure optimal performance in areas with variable connectivity.

• Efficiently utilize APIs and data streams from cloud platforms (AWS API Gateway, Lambda) and IoT devices to conserve battery life and reduce network latency.

• Establish mobile hardening and token storage protocols to meet industrial security and compliance standards.

• Collaborate closely in a shift-left approach with QA, writing unit and integration tests while engaging in agile Scrum ceremonies.

• Provide comprehensive documentation, architecture decision records (ADRs), contribution guidelines, and code handover to the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of demonstrated professional experience in native mobile development for Android utilizing Kotlin.

• Extensive hands-on experience with React Native, including TypeScript, hooks, React Navigation, and state management frameworks (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or MobX).

• Proven experience in executing brownfield/strangler-fig migrations or modernizing legacy mobile applications.

• Strong understanding of backend integration through REST APIs, JWT, and OAuth2/OIDC protocols (experience with AWS Cognito is highly advantageous).

• Expertise in offline-first engineering using local storage solutions (SQLite, Realm, AsyncStorage, or MMKV) and data synchronization queues.

• Experience in establishing mobile CI/CD automation and build pipelines (Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or CircleCI), encompassing code signing and distribution.

• Solid testing methodologies with tools such as Jest, React Native Testing Library, and optionally automated end-to-end tools like Detox or Appium.
