Senior ML Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the client's recommendation system, overseeing the entire process from design and training to deployment and monitoring.

• Develop and enhance ranking and retrieval models that effectively process behavioral signals, such as clicks, opens, and purchases, at a consumer scale.

• Manage machine learning systems handling hundreds of millions of events daily, directly influencing client revenue.

• Make independent technical decisions and interact directly with the client's engineering leadership, without intermediaries.

⛳️ Requirements

• Between 6 to 9 years of experience in software or data engineering positions.

• At least 4 years of experience in building and operating machine learning systems in a production environment.

• A minimum of 2 to 3 years focused on recommendation systems as a primary area of expertise, rather than peripheral exposure.

• Practical experience with ranking and retrieval architectures, with the ability to discuss trade-offs based on real-world production experience.

• Proven experience in operating systems at a consumer scale, processing hundreds of millions of events daily or more.

• Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with a contemporary machine learning stack, including PyTorch or TensorFlow, scikit-learn, and feature engineering libraries.

• Proficient in SQL for data exploration and validation purposes.

• Experience with production deployment on cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Fluent in spoken and written English, as this role involves direct technical discussions with US-based client engineering leaders.

• Proven ability to work autonomously in client or stakeholder-facing environments, including managing scope, identifying blockers, and making independent decisions.
