Senior Migration & Modernization Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee comprehensive infrastructure and application migration initiatives to AWS, including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and re-architecting efforts.

• Execute discovery and technical evaluations of legacy systems, pinpointing risks, dependencies, and areas for optimization.

• Create cloud-native architectures utilizing microservices, containers (EKS), serverless functions (Lambda), and managed databases.

• Apply infrastructure as code (IaC) methodologies through Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.

• Conduct AWS Well-Architected Reviews and apply suggestions for enhancements in security, performance, and cost efficiency.

• Work collaboratively with infrastructure, security, data, and business units to ensure project deliveries align with the client's strategic roadmap.

• Maintain documentation for architectures, technical choices, runbooks, and rollback strategies.

• Act as a technical resource for junior and mid-level team members throughout project execution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience with an emphasis on cloud technologies and migration processes.

• Practical experience with AWS services: EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, Lambda, VPC, CloudFormation, Migration Hub, DMS, and MGN.

• Expertise in infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.

• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.

• Proficient in Python and/or Java for development and automation in migration tasks.

• Background in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar tools).

• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with both technical and business stakeholders.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional certification is an advantage.

• Experience with AWS MAP (Migration Acceleration Program) is an added benefit.
