Senior Mental Health Clinical, Disability Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Evaluate intricate or high-risk mental health disability claims and offer recommendations that support recovery and sustainable return-to-work outcomes.

• Analyze and interpret medical, psychological, and clinical data to guide case direction.

• Recognize barriers to recovery and suggest timely intervention strategies.

• Collaborate with Disability Case Specialists to formulate case management strategies and action plans.

• Advocate for proactive disability management practices and prompt interventions.

• Mentor Disability Case Specialists and other professionals in disability management.

• Provide individual and group coaching on mental health disability claims, functional assessments, claimant engagement, recovery planning, and return-to-work strategies.

• Foster the development of clinical reasoning and best-practice approaches in disability management.

• Create and present tools, resources, training, and guidance materials.

• Evaluate functional capacity, work readiness, and rehabilitation options.

• Recommend rehabilitation, clinical, and workplace interventions.

• Direct return-to-work planning and sustainable workplace reintegration.

• Identify trends, insights, and opportunities to enhance mental health disability management practices.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, best practices, and program enhancements.

• Keep abreast of the latest trends in mental health, rehabilitation, disability management, and the insurance industry.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant health or clinical field.

• 5 to 7 years of experience in mental health, rehabilitation, disability management, occupational health, or a similar clinical area.

• Proven experience in managing complex mental health disability cases, including recovery or return-to-work considerations.

• Experience in coaching, mentoring, consulting, or providing specialized clinical guidance to disability management professionals.

• Mandatory professional designation in a regulated health profession, such as Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or another related clinical discipline.

• Advanced understanding of mental health conditions, evidence-based treatment modalities, and recovery-oriented practices.

• Strong grasp of disability management and return-to-work principles.

• Exceptional coaching, consultation, facilitation, and communication skills.

• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-support abilities.

• Capacity to influence, build trust, and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

• Proficiency in both English and French is required.
