Senior MedPay Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Manage moderate to highly complex auto claims involving property damage, material damage, and liability insurance lines.

• Interact with insured individuals, claimants, witnesses, and other relevant parties.

• Articulate benefits, coverages, fault determinations, and the claims process both verbally and in writing.

• Identify and address coverage-related issues.

• Conduct telephonic investigations to ascertain liability and damages.

• Collect and secure statements from insured parties, claimants, and witnesses.

• Gather information to confirm and resolve coverage and policy applicability.

• Assess and determine claim values utilizing data related to property, bodily injury, and liability.

• Negotiate within settlement authority to resolve both first- and third-party claims.

• Update database production reports and document claims files using company systems, such as CACS, HUON, HOC, and GUIDEWIRE.

• Manage expenses related to areas of responsibility.

• Collaborate with both internal and external departments.

• Independently resolve claim exposures within the scope of authority.

• Respond promptly to customer inquiries and issues.

• May participate in legal proceedings as required.

• Occasionally travel for off-site business meetings or conferences.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.

• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Preferred 7–9 years of previous claims handling experience.

• Required 7–9 years of experience in Property, Auto, Casualty, or relevant claims administration.

• In-depth knowledge of best practices and procedures in claims administration.

• Thorough understanding of building and vehicle repair processes as well as third-party liability issues.

• Extensive knowledge of insurance principles, fault assessment, negligence, and subrogation.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, general software, and claims management software.

• Strong organizational and planning skills.

• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrated leadership capabilities among peers.

• Valid driver's license, an acceptable Department of Motor Vehicles record, and minimum state-issued liability insurance.

• An insurance/claims adjuster license may be necessary for claims administration in certain states.

• Occasional travel for off-site business meetings or conferences (5%).
