Senior Medical Writer – Medical Affairs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct medical literature research and data analysis to aid in project pitch development, the creation of new content, and regulatory review/approval.

• Create medical and scientific copy, ensuring references are highlighted/tagged as needed for all sales and client-driven initiatives.

• Assist in project pitch development and delivery by offering medical and scientific expertise to client engagement teams.

• Provide medical and scientific assistance during client meetings, workshops, and advisory board sessions, which may take place virtually or in-person.

• Edit content to correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors, ensure stylistic consistency, improve readability, and confirm that the copy adheres to branding and referencing standards.

• Work with copy deck formats that accurately document changes, style choices, source materials, and referencing requirements.

• Prepare and submit content for medical legal regulatory review in client submission/referencing systems.

• Engage in client calls and correspondence related to content approval; document and clarify all content change requests, ensuring that relevant information is communicated to other production team members.

• Collaborate with the Design team to guarantee that visuals are scientifically accurate and adhere to client preferences/style guides and regulatory standards.

• Partner with the Animation team to draft and review scripts, as well as assess storyboards and video outputs.

• Work with the User Experience team to organize and streamline content; review IA/wires/functional specification documents for scientific accuracy.

• Collaborate with editorial team members to ensure consistency with client branding and verify the accuracy of spelling, punctuation, and grammar.

• Conduct comprehensive validation of project content, reporting and resolving issues with appropriate team members, including the project manager and/or account management personnel.

• Assist in generating budget estimates for new or revised projects.

• Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of editorial standards and workflow optimization.

• Educate team members on scientific constructs as necessary to ensure understanding and alignment in content development.

• Ensure coordination with other team members and clients regarding deliverables.

• Manage communication with team members in Pune who assist with regulatory submissions and scientific accuracy.

• Navigate daily tasks and support Project Managers in addressing resource challenges.

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in medical communications or medical writing.

• A solid understanding of clinical research, the drug development process, and relevant regulatory guidelines.

• Exceptional written, verbal, analytical, and editing skills.

• Experience presenting and engaging with medical and scientific experts, employing problem-solving abilities.

• Detail-oriented and highly organized individual.

• Naturally curious and attentive, capable of asking and answering probing questions.

• Thrives on the challenge of managing multiple tasks within a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.

• A team player with strong interpersonal skills.

• Previous experience working with healthcare clients in an agency context.

• Prior experience in digital media, web applications, or new technology.
