This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.
• Establish and nurture professional relationships with key healthcare providers and decision-makers relevant to Catalyst’s various neuromuscular programs and products.
• Present and engage in strategic discussions regarding medical/clinical, health economics, and outcomes research data related to Catalyst’s offerings.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including individual physicians, researchers, medical and pharmacy directors from managed markets, hospital decision-makers, formulary committees, consultant pharmacists, state Medicaid decision-makers, and others.
• Identify, cultivate, and sustain collaborative relationships with current and prospective Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the DMD domain, scientific experts, cooperative study groups, and study sites.
• Work with key professionals at national, regional, and local levels, providing them with accurate, balanced medical, scientific, and pharmacoeconomic information regarding Catalyst’s therapies.
• Enhance the awareness of our marketed products, enabling key healthcare professionals to make informed therapeutic choices.
• Assist in organizing and executing regional and/or national advisory board meetings for marketed and pipeline assets, which includes delivering engaging presentations, aiding in slide preparation/review, and facilitating interactive discussion groups.
• Provide resources for sharing medical information, allowing decision-makers to offer feedback on the utility of our products and how they compare in the marketplace.
• Conduct targeted internal training on selected topics (e.g., study updates, congress news, and the latest scientific advancements).
• Implement and distribute high-quality medical and scientific educational programs; deliver clinical and scientific presentations at hospitals and other sites.
• Support Catalyst-sponsored clinical trials on-site through scientific presentations and discussions that provide context, generate interest in the scientific program, and offer feedback to Catalyst on study design; understand trial/referral networks and identify enrollment obstacles; participate in investigator meetings as per the approved investigator strategy.
• Accelerate the development and collection of high-quality data for pipeline assets and marketed products.
• Support projects from inception to conclusion as directed by the medical affairs director.
• Contribute clinical and value-based insights into Catalyst communications and materials, while also participating in or assisting with the training of new associates, including but not limited to medical science liaisons and regional account managers.
• An advanced degree in medical/biosciences (e.g., M.D, D.O., Ph.D., PharmD) is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical research, pharmacy, life sciences, or the pharmaceutical industry/academia (relevant fellowship experience may be included).
• Established neurology relationships within the DMD therapeutic space are a must.
• 5 or more years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), preferably in the DMD or Rare Disease sectors.
• Experience in the DMD field is essential.
• Understanding of the pharmaceutical corporate environment and the ability to liaise between Commercial, Marketing, Payor, and Medical in a compliant manner.
• A solid foundation of scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge, along with extensive presentation and teaching abilities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; must be comfortable and confident discussing drug information and disease state management.
• Willingness to work compliantly across functions within the organization.
• Ability to lead and inspire team members without direct reporting relationships, including training and mentoring new medical science liaisons, marketing, and commercial colleagues.
• Proven capability to assess issues and think strategically.
• Proficient computer skills, including applications for word processing, slide material production, and spreadsheet management.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite.
• Ability to develop necessary qualitative and quantitative reports; compile competitor information.
