Senior Medical Director, Oncology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Report to the Executive Director, US Medical Affairs, Oncology.

• Develop and implement Medical Affairs strategies for both marketed and in-development breast cancer products.

• Lead and manage a cross-functional Medical Affairs team.

• Provide strategic insights regarding the breast cancer treatment landscape to guide development programs and evaluate commercial opportunities.

• Support internal teams, including development, sales, marketing, regulatory, and clinical colleagues.

• Address medical issues and oversee the creation of medical narratives, field materials, and training resources.

• Lead strategic collaborations with key opinion leaders and professional societies.

• Represent Medical Affairs in advisory boards, scientific meetings, and interactions with investigators.

• Collaborate with development or partnership organizations.

• Provide US priorities and insights for breast cancer research development plans, study design, and execution.

• Coordinate analyses, evidence interpretation, and the publication of pivotal trial data.

• Support label development and negotiation of indications.

• Manage medical strategy from product launch through its lifecycle.

• Collaborate with Commercial counterparts on brand plans.

• Take part in the Medical and Promotional Review committee.

• Collaborate on evidence-generation needs and study execution with HEOR, GV, and RWE.

• Serve as a breast cancer subject matter expert for cross-functional initiatives.

• Identify opportunities that empower the oncology care community to utilize Jazz assets effectively.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Medical Affairs or a related field.

• Experience in delivering oncology care is preferred.

• Strongly desired experience in launching and managing the lifecycle of oncology indications, specifically in breast cancer.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Proven ability to influence without direct authority.

• Demonstrated success within matrix organizations.

• Track record of high-performance behaviors, including independent critical thinking, initiative, and the ability to execute under time constraints with competing priorities.

• Self-awareness and emotional intelligence reflected in prior experience navigating complex matrix environments successfully.

• An advanced degree is required: PhD, PharmD, MD, DO, Doctor of Nursing, or Physician’s Assistant.
